How can we help?

Guides on team cost modelling, salary benchmarks, scenarios, departments, and billing.

Comparing scenarios

Place two or more teams side-by-side on the Compare page to see cost differences, headcount changes, and overhead percentages at a glance.

Comparing scenarios

The Compare page lets you select up to four teams (or scenario variants) and view them side-by-side. Cost differences relative to a baseline are highlighted so you can quickly find the most efficient configuration.

Opening the comparison view

Click Compare in the dashboard navigation bar, or navigate to /compare directly.

Selecting teams

Use the team selector dropdowns at the top of the page to choose which teams to include. You can compare:

  • Two or more versions of the same team (modelled as separate teams with different role mixes)
  • A current team against a growth scenario generated on the Scenarios page
  • Any combination of teams from your workspace

What the comparison shows

Each team appears as a column. The comparison table includes:

| Row | Description | |-----|-------------| | Total loaded cost | Annual fully-loaded cost for the whole team | | Headcount | Total number of people | | Avg cost / head | Total loaded cost ÷ headcount | | Base salary | Sum of all role salaries | | Overhead % | Employer NI, pension, benefits, and other costs on top of salary |

Baseline and deltas

One team is designated the baseline. All other columns show their figures as a delta relative to it:

  • Green delta — this team costs less than the baseline
  • Red delta — this team costs more than the baseline

Click Set as baseline on any column to change the reference point.

Exporting the comparison

Click Export PDF to generate a side-by-side PDF suitable for board presentations or budget reviews.

PDF export with comparison requires a Pro plan. Free plans include a watermark.

Tips

  • Build scenario variants first on the Scenarios page, then compare them here.
  • Try different company stage assumptions (startup vs. scale-up) on each variant to see how costs diverge over time.
  • The comparison reflects the last-saved state of each team — unsaved changes will not appear. Look for the "Saved" indicator in the Team Builder before switching to Compare.
