Regional salary benchmarks

TeamCalc provides salary benchmarks across 13 UK regions, so you can plan accurately whether you're hiring in London, Edinburgh, or Bristol.

Available regions

London, South East, South West, East of England, West Midlands, East Midlands, North West, North East, Yorkshire, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and a UK National Average.

How regional data works

Each benchmark combines multiple institutional and market data sources, weighted by recency and reliability. Regional figures are calibrated against a national baseline using location multipliers derived from ONS and commercial salary survey data.

Using regional benchmarks

  1. On the Teams page, select a region from the dropdown at the top (Pro plan and above)
  2. All benchmark suggestions on role cards update to reflect that region
  3. The Regional Comparison panel on each role card shows how the salary compares across regions

Free plan users see UK National Average benchmarks only. Upgrade to Pro to unlock all 13 regions.

Quality scores

Every benchmark includes a quality score (0–100) with a label:

  • Strong (75–100) — multiple agreeing sources, recent data
  • Good (50–74) — solid data with some gaps
  • Indicative (25–49) — limited sources, use with caution
  • Directional (0–24) — sparse data, treat as rough guidance only

Hover the quality badge on any role card to see the full breakdown across four dimensions: source depth, source agreement, freshness, and directness.

Benchmarks explorer

Visit the Benchmarks page to browse all available salary data without creating a team. Filter by role, seniority, region, and company stage.
